Reflection:

The Content Knowledge INTASC standard calls for the demonstration of the understanding of central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structures of social studies so that I can create learning experiences that ensure mastery of content for my learners. At Samford University, I was a double major in History and Education with a concentration in social studies. I took advanced courses in history, economics, political science, education, Spanish, and communication studies which led to a well-rounded foundation of content knowledge and the necessary in-depth understanding of my content area so as to be able to better teach my students. I have had in-class experience with students from 8th grade to 12th grade in the areas of psychology, sociology, film, American history, world history, and economics.

Artifact 1 is my Samford Transcript which lists all of my undergraduate courses in the relevant content areas of history, economics, education, and social sciences. Artifact 2 is a composite unit plan which exhibits my ability to encourage learns to understand, question, and analyze a variety of economic ideas both individually and in a group context. Artifact 3 is a research paper that I wrote and presented, representing my mastery of history as both a historian and a teacher.
